Trends: Greater internet access has led to an explosion in the production and consumption of information in the continent. Though internet is spreading in the continent, its efficient development and use are still lagging behind compared to the more dynamic emerging countries. Depending on investment and policies, access to internet at the household level should continue to grow in Africa, particularly in urban centres. Impacts/Outcomes: Outsourcing, for instance, brings internet-based jobs to those groups.Different activities can be concentrated and made accessible with the help of internet portals supporting participation. The ICT revolution with the rapid development and use of Internet, digital mobile communication, and “big data” analysis enable to create a less costly and more powerful “intelligent transport systems”
