Trends: The penetration rate of the Internet in sub-Saharan Africa is still very low. The supply of connections in sub-Saharan Africa is mainly based on GSM and CDMA. Enablers: Internet penetration of homes in Africa has been possible thanks to the Smartphone.African policymakers and regulators are increasingly applying growth- friendly practices that will make these dreams a reality. Challenges: the insufficient level of literacy, the lack of telecommunication infrastructures and the lack of electrical energy.
